  • This is an opportunity to support the Army’s biometric collection mission to collect, match and compare fingerprints, iris images, and facial photos to establish identity superiority and maintain identity dominance in all areas of military operations. As a key member of the biometric team, you will work closely with the warfighter to ensure 100% availability of all biometric data. The successful candidate will oversee the integration, maintenance, and monitoring of all hardware and software of the Biometric System of Systems capability, ensure constant availability of all technical resources, and provide technical direction to IT support staff. It’s a high-level role of eliciting/divining/negotiating/arbitrating/influencing stakeholder requirements/concerns and developing the architecture and roadmap of biometric systems.
  • With a strong IT baseline, the ideal candidate will gain detailed knowledge on biometric software and hardware and be in a strategic position to assist our warfighters in ensuring all systems are 100% ready to successfully conduct biometric missions.


  • Design and implement the enhancements and future capabilities for the biometric architecture in support of the Army’s Biometric System of Systems.
    • Define, plan, and support the execution of the evolution of the current capability to enhanced and expanded network infrastructures using various global cloud capabilities and software-based networking capabilities in order to provide the best possible managed attribution network infrastructure to support the variety of classified to unclassified internet-facing missions.
    • Work w/ the current operational elements, engineering and infrastructure staff, and the design team to define the underlying infrastructure use of cloud technologies and SN capabilities for the enhanced and newly designed networks.
  • Ensure the stable and reliable connectivity of all Cloud, LAN, and WAN networks
  • Assist with all levels of network administration, from innovating new technologies to hardware/software support while maintaining and improving security procedures
  • Rapidly troubleshoot network outages through the application of network analysis fundamentals and troubleshooting skills.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related technical discipline plus 5 years of experience OR 8 years of direct relevant technical experience may be substituted for education


  • Bachelor’s degree Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related technical discipline plus 10 years of experience OR 10 years of direct relevant technical experience may be substituted for education

Additional Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in:
    • Enterprise-level Cloud design and implementation of multiple cloud vendors (AWS, Azure, Google) and building and maintaining reliable infrastructure and security services
    • Configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting network components including but not limited to DNS, firewalls, routing tables, access control lists, subnets, virtual instances.
    • Managing highly available data center operations with responsibility for infrastructure robustness, including networking, security, server hardware
    • Linux and another Linux flavored OS (Ubuntu)
    • Experience with SQL, Cloud Technology and IP Networking
    • Systems management/administration automation in Python
    • Experience with virtualization and/or containerization technologies such as Docker
    • Designing virtualized, fault-tolerant, hardened computer environments
    • Experience with the application of NIST 800-171 rev2
  • Knowledge of technologies surrounding Enterprise Switches and Routers connecting to Cloud applications and cloud networking technologies in the areas of SDN, NFV, SD-WAN
  • Experience with IP related services to include HTTP, FTP, NNTP and SMTP
  • Experience with routing services to include DHCP, ARP, RARP
  • Experience with connection services to include SOAP, RMI, RPC
  • Development experience with cloud platforms, orchestration, and VNF managers
  • Excellent communication and relationship skills, especially the ability to articulate advanced technical topics to both technical and non-technical staff
  • Interact with the customer, as needed, to address connectivity issues
  • Within 6 months of hiring get DoD 8570 AIT level II Certification as specified at
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Engage with a diverse team providing technical and functional expertise including both government and contractor personnel
  • US Citizen 
  • Work approximately 8 hours per day, five days a week
